Congratulations to Passion Pictures for their fabulous work on “The Lost Thing” and the little golden statue it earned them.

I’m only posting the trailer here, but if you note the source you can go check out the official website to learn more. Having seen the film myself: I highly encourage you to do so.

  5. Opening for the cartoon Dragon Hunters which was produced by the French company Futurikon and aired in the United States on Cartoon Network in 2006. Song by The Cure.

ROSE: The colour palette and texture of this opening reminds me of Nico Marlet’s concept work, specifically for Kung-Fu Panda and How To Train your dragon.

  6. Making Of Oi FM from Giroscópio Filmes on Vimeo.

At first I didn’t realize hand cut paper was used to make this lovely commercial from the Brazilian stop motion studio Giroscopio Filmes! Thankfully this behind the scenes video clears it all up.

  7. An interesting look into how the stop motion show Robot Chicken is made, seen at one of my favourite blogs Super Punch. He’s also posted a video of one of the artists on the show sculpting the Sarlacc Pit for one of the Star Wars episodes!

  8. I love the colour work in this short film ‘Medusa” by Nick DiLiberto. According to this small interview with him on CanadianAnimationResources it’s “a fully 2D classically animated film. lots of Pencils and paper.”

Thank you to hiradot for suggesting this!

  10. snormand said: I loved that Orfeu trailer, do you know how it was animated?

The comments on the vimeo page say that he animated it in flash and the song is ‘Samba De Orfeu’ by Luiz Bonfa.
